Access the official Trezor Suite application from trezor.io. The Suite is your command center for managing your hardware wallet. Available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and as a web application. Download the desktop version for the best experience, or use the browser version if you prefer not to install software.
Run the installation package and follow the setup wizard. The Trezor Suite will guide you through the initial configuration. Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements and that you have administrative privileges to complete the installation process successfully.
Plug your Trezor hardware wallet into your computer using the provided USB cable. The device will power on automatically and display welcome instructions. Make sure to use the original cable for optimal connectivity and security. Your device will be detected by the Suite application.
Choose between creating a new wallet or recovering an existing one. For new wallets, the device will generate a recovery seed - a series of 12 or 24 words that serve as your backup. Write these words down on the provided recovery card and store it in a secure location. Never share or digitally store your recovery seed.
Create a secure PIN code to protect your device from unauthorized access. The PIN is entered using a randomized number grid displayed on your computer, while the actual positions are shown only on your Trezor device. This prevents keyloggers from capturing your PIN.
Complete the security checklist by verifying your recovery seed, enabling additional security features like passphrase protection, and updating to the latest firmware. Trezor Suite will guide you through each security enhancement. Consider enabling advanced features like Shamir Backup for enterprise-grade security.
